COVID-19 precautions/protocols

The safety and comfort of the group is very important to us. Therefore, all participants that choose to register for this workshop are agreeing to follow the protocols mentioned below, throughout the duration of the workshop.

1) Check and record your temperature the week before the workshop
2) On site, your temperature will be checked at least once a day using a no-touch infrared thermometer. Anyone that has a temperature will need to be separated from the group.
3) We will always wear face masks when in the company of each other and maintain social distancing at all times.
4) Everyone will drive their own vehicle in the field, unless you are from the same household.
5) Classroom will be setup so everyone stays 6 feet apart and masks will be worn.
6) Meals will be eaten separately unless outdoor seating that allows social distancing is available.

7) Nikhil will touch your camera only if it is deemed necessary. Sanitizing hands before and after. Please note: you are expected to know the basic operation of your camera to minimize the need for this.

Description: Spring is a great time to be at Chincoteague! This workshop will cover how to think conceptually and create abstracts of common subjects to challenge the viewer's perceptions. We will create abstract art with flowing water and photograph ocean views, beach scenes, patterns and textures in the sand, marshes and plant life. You can expect to see and possibly photograph many different bird species that return to the island in the spring. There may be opportunities to photograph the fabled Chincoteague ponies, Sika Deer, and other wildlife that inhabits the island.

The workshop includes instructional presentations that will inspire and explain how to make creative and beautiful photographs at this location. There will be plenty of field instruction that will cover techniques like capturing and freezing motion, long exposures and other creative techniques. A constructive image feedback session of the participant's photographs will complete the workshop.
